The Haska custom is a tradition that takes place in Thessaloniki on the final Sunday of the carnival season known as Shrove Tuesday. During this custom, a string is attached to a small piece of wood and an egg or piece of halva is hung from it. Participants must attempt to bite into the egg or halva without using their hands. The use of the egg in this tradition is significant as it symbolizes life and creation in many cultures. The process of trying to catch the egg also adds to the fun of the custom, as it is not easy to do. Whoever is successful in "biting" the egg is considered lucky and receives an additional prize in addition to getting to eat the egg.
The custom of the camel in Thermi
This is a story that took place during the Turkish Occupation in a village in Halkidiki. There lived a very beautiful girl named Maniο, who everyone wanted as a wife. Maniο fell in love with a young man, but before they could get married, the son of the Turkish ruler abducted her. The young man then, along with his friends, devised a plan similar to that of the Trojan Horse. They made a camel,hid inside it, and left it at the entrance of the house on the day of the impending wedding. When it was night and all the Turks were drunk and sleeping deeply, the young Greek man, with his friends, abducted Maniο and married her on the spot. Thus, according to the tradition, young men hide under a camel statue, and dance in the village square.
Ragoutsia of Chalastra
In some areas of Macedonia, a tradition called Ragoutsi is practiced during the Christmas season, including in the town of Halastra in Thessaloniki. During the time when Turkey controlled the region, the authorities were unable to effectively protect villages from thieves and instead relied on groups of Greek people to guard them. These youths would travel through the villages on Christmas Day, wearing traditional clothing called foustanelles and carrying swords and tambourines as they went.
The custom of the bun at the wedding
Before the wedding, the groom's mother invites her relatives and neighbors to come and make the bride's koulouri (a sweet bread). The women who come have such imagination and skill that they make the bread a delicious work of art. They pluck small pieces of dough and place them on it, creating many patterns, filling the entire surface with great precision and excellent technique. Everything depicted on kouloura has its own meaning. The birds represent the children who will be born into the new family. The grapes represent productivity, the fruits represent prosperity, and the flowers represent the flowery life of the newlyweds. On the day of the wedding, the bride's home is welcomed with sweets, drinks, and mezedes, and there the bride breaks the koulouri and divides it into small pieces for the guests.

The ''Massalia'' restaurant is named after the famous and beautiful French city from which the restaurant's logo is inspired, as the story goes that when Massalia was founded, during the celebrations, the Phocians offered the French people a wind vane, with a cockerel decoration, as a gift.
